Black and White Hand drawn portrait from your photo

It is getting close to mothers day and what better way to show her you love her than a gift that will last a lifetime.
A hand drawn portrait from her favorite photo.
They are fast, accurate and charming.
The image here was done for my new friend Ian in the Phillipines.
The drawing was done from a snapshot of his family. This little boy just had the best face to draw. He is filled with character.
His testimonial and website is below.
Thanks man! I love it. You really got great talents! :)

Hand Drawn Self Portrait

I have been doing these portraits for awhile now and strangely enough I have never done one of myself. Plus I have been admonished for not putting one up. So here it is.

new approach

My latest hand drawn portrait.
I have been experimenting with a new approach for these little gems.
Everyone loves color and I am no exception. So, I decided to show you
how your portrait can be altered in an inexpensive yet exciting way.

After scanning in your portrait and playing with photoshop a whole new look emerges.
I think it gives an old world yet contemporary look to them.

As a special promo I am offering this approach for the same price as a black and white.

Jean Robert De Cavel hand drawn portrait

Today was my birthday and went to a new restaurant for brunch "Lavomatic".

They have great coffee and a wonderful chocolate & walnut croissant. Later it was off to the museum. "The three faces of Rembrandt". One painting has never left the louvre and is just breathtaking.

He did a self portrait in his mid 50's that just defies description. Skillful and touching.

Anyway I came home just needing to draw something so I drew and painted the owner of Lavomatic ,Jean Robert De Cavel. I think it came out pretty well.

Hand drawn portrait of Ricky

This one was a little more challenging than most. The pic was very small and lacked detail but I managed to pull out enough thru the magic of photoshop to get what I needed for a good drawing.

Hand Drawn Portrait of 2 Johns

When coming up with a title this is the only thing I could come up with, it sounded funny to me.
They really are great guys. Both sent in pics that were clear and large enough to easily work with.

John Melanson had this to say about his portrait.
I just want to say how THRILLED I am about the portrait that you did. You captured my likeness extremely well. My wife commented on how beautifully you drew my eyes. I would have to agree, I could not be more happy with your work. You can expect many referrals from me in the future. Thanks again!!

John Melanson

John Ritskowitz had this to say about his portrait.
Thanks, Guy. Wow, this turned out really well! Many thanks!
One question: It looks like the top of my head along the hairline got chopped off.
Is that just my viewer, or is it that way for effect?
Overall I’m VERY pleased! You are very talented

My response to John Ristkowtz
I am glad you like it. I really enjoyed doing it. My approach to each portrait is different. But I usually drop out areas to bring attention to the significant parts. The overall effect is what is important and to also keep that spontanious feel. I see very tight drawings on the net that put in everything and it just seems to loose any graphic power.

The reaction to their hand drawn portrait
I am stunned!! The portrait you did of me and my partner is amazing.
Warriors if you want to check out my portrait out go to his blog(that's us at the top, yeah!!). I think it is great and I am going to add it to my site asap. It lends a organic look and would be escpecially great for health sites etc...It's a remarkable price too. I know many people who would like their portrait done.

Wendys comment on her portrait.
The other day, I stumbled across an artist that offers a unique service - personal portraits for your website or blog! He hand draws these and they’re gorgeous! He’s very affordable too - and I can think of many more uses for these portraits, like having one done of your kids, your pets, as a gift for your spouse, etc.
